The Challenge

A multi-location mental health agency with 12 sites and 200+ employees came to me looking for help with a potential sale. But once we started talking, bigger problems surfaced. They hadn't been able to file their taxes. Financial statements didn't tie to their bank accounts. They were weeks from missing payroll and didn't know it. On the billing side, aged receivables were growing unchecked, and their billing team was tracking denials on spreadsheets.

  • Rebuilt the books from scratch and reconciled every transaction to the bank
  • Created a month-end close process that delivered a full reporting pack to leadership within the first week of each month

The Results

The practice went from an operating loss to over $1M in profit. Revenue doubled. Collections reached 98%+ with aged AR under 15%, both above industry benchmarks. And as processes improved, the billing team was reduced by 50% through natural attrition — better systems meant fewer people needed. When it came time to sell, I sourced multiple buyers, led the due diligence process, and leveraged competing offers to maximize the outcome.
